Trucks in the Boatyard

The trucks of the boatyard are caricatures of the owners that drive them.  Idle for 11 months and buried in snow, these trucks roar to life once a year.  Held together with wire, duct tape, hope, and elbow grease, they amaze the eye and lighten the spirit.  They live temperamental lives and break down in inopportune places.  Parked – for better or for worse or just “stopped”.  They don’t readily reveal their identity alive or dead because, with a little more hope and a well placed kick, a car can just roar back to life – surprising us all.  Hope springs eternal and with just the right amount of hope, one can eek another couple months and hence another season out of a vehicle long past its prime.  We are nothing if not resourceful.
